The Common Years centers on individual experience, drawing on the lives and insights of ordinary people to reveal how an era takes shape. Personal perspectives, everyday choices, family memories, and urban change come together within a shared framework, forming a collective record. Professor of History at the University of Arizona, she has long specialized in modern social history and oral history. She currently serves as the academic advisor for The Common Years, providing guidance on project framing, source methodology, and narrative standards.
